Jennifer Formica is a photographic artist living in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. She received her B.F.A. in Photography at Hartford Art School, University of Hartford in Connecticut, and her M.F.A. in Photography at the State University of New York at Buffalo. Her work has been exhibited in numerous solo, and group exhibitions in galleries throughout the United States and abroad including: Flora-Fauna, Islip Art Museum, Islip, New York, WOWbug & Other Micro-Nature, Khaki Gallery, Boston; She Blinded Me with Science, Gallery 138, New York, NY and Micro Nature, Pelham Art Center, Pelham, NY. Jennifer's color photographs have been published in Robert Hirsch’s books Light & Lens: Photography in the Digital Age and Exploring Color Photography: From Film to Pixels.

She received the Oseroff Memorial Purchase Prize from CEPA Gallery. Her selected work from this honor is now part of the permanent collection of Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, New York. It is on prominent display in the public area of the hospital. Her photographic images have also been used for a wide array of commercial purposes: book covers, editorials, annual reports, catalogs, and websites. Clients and publications have included The New Yorker, British Broadcasting Corporation, Chanel, Elizabeth Arden, and Woman's World magazine, to name a few.

Jennifer has been teaching photography for over two decades and is currently an Adjunct Professor of Photography at York College/ City University of New York, New York Institute of Technology, and New Jersey City University. 

Formica’s art process and technique run the gamut from a traditional analog large-format camera to using the scanner as an image-capturing device to connecting a microscope to her various film and digital cameras to capture her subjects.
